Albert Luque has shown his “dissatisfaction” with the suspension of his position as director of the national team in a letter that he sent to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). The former player assures that “he has not committed any illicit act”, although he claims to abide by the decision to “guarantee the stability of the senior men’s team” at the gates of this summer’s Euro Cup. “I have decided not to challenge this measure despite my disagreement,” he announces.
The Federation announced on March 27 that it was suspending both Albert Luque and Rubén Rivera, head of marketing, from their duties, whom the Prosecutor’s Office accuses of coercing national team player Jenni Hermoso after everything that happened at the celebration of the World Cup for the Spanish women’s team in Sydney last summer.
“I have not incurred any illicit act, neither during the performance of my professional nor private activities. “I have not incurred a lack of work that deserves the adoption of a measure taken by the RFEF such as the one they have communicated to me,” he assures in said letter, sent to the Human Resources department of the RFEF.
