The director of the men’s soccer team, Albert Luque, has admitted that he tried to talk to the player Jenni Hermoso during the trip to Ibiza that he made after winning the World Cup, although he has indicated that he did so because they had a friendly relationship and denied that he pressured her.

Luque appeared this Tuesday by videoconference before the judge of the National Court who is investigating him along with Luis Rubiales and other members of his team when he presided over the RFEF for the pressure to which Jenni Hermoso was allegedly subjected to try to get her to publicly justify the kiss. in the mouth that the former president gave him after the World Cup final, on August 20.

During his statement, given from the Terrassa courts, the director of the men’s team flatly denied having coerced the soccer player and justified that he wanted to speak with her on his own initiative because they had a friendly relationship, according to what legal sources inform EFE. .

Rubiales’ advisor before leading the team, Luque, who has only responded to his defense, explained that he was in Ibiza before the ten players arrived, including Jenni Hermoso, who traveled to the island after the victory in the world Cup.

Once there, according to the sources consulted, he admitted that he wanted to speak with Jenni Hermoso, but that she did not receive him and that is why he spoke with the friend who accompanied him, and he has indicated that it was a cordial meeting.

Luque, whose statement lasted barely half an hour, added that the three met to talk the next day, although in the end the meeting did not take place. The director of the men’s soccer team has been the last of the four investigated in this case to testify.

Before him did the former women’s selector and coach of the Moroccan women’s team, Jorge Vilda; the Marketing Director of the RFEF, Rubén Rivera, and Rubiales himself, also investigated for a crime of sexual assault. Like Luque, everyone has denied the coercion.

Throughout the month of November, the judge will question a series of witnesses, including the men’s coach, Luis de la Fuente; the former communications director of the RFEF Pablo García-Cuervo, the soccer player Laia Codina and the president of the National Women’s Soccer Committee, Rafael del Amo.

On the 30th, a confrontation will be held at the request of Jenni Hermoso between the footballer’s friend, with whom Luque has admitted that he spoke on the trip to Ibiza, and the Marketing Director of the RFEF, Rubén Rivera, who was also at the island those days, given the discrepancies observed in their versions.
