Yesterday, a light truck caused alarm in Madrid after it caught fire and circulated engulfed in flames and without a driver during a section of the M-11.
The accident, in which there were no victims, according to what a Madrid Emergency spokesperson told Efe, occurred around four in the afternoon when the vehicle, which was joining the M-11 from the M-30 ring road, stopped, probably due to a breakdown, and it started to burn.
According to images circulating on social networks, a man tried to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher, but the fire got worse and the truck began to be engulfed in flames, including the cabin.
A National Police patrol car that witnessed the scene called the capital’s emergency services.
The truck ended its incendiary march under a bridge, where firefighters from two Madrid City Council teams quickly extinguished the fire and prevented it from catching on the grass vegetation on the sides of the road.
After putting out the flames, the firefighters received a major surprise when they found that there were no occupants inside the damaged vehicle.
