The Adlib fashion catwalk, held this past weekend in Eivissa, achieved one of the most applauded in recent years in its 52nd edition. At the dinner held in Villa Mercedes (Sant Antoni de Portmany), the Minister of Economic and Business Promotion, María Fajarnés, was exultant at the end of a contest whose masters of ceremonies were Laura Sánchez – who paraded in Adlib for the first time 25 years ago – and Lídia Torrent. This year people like Lourdes Montes, Fiona Ferrer, Paloma Lago, Elsa Anka, Eugenia Ortiz and Jessica Bueno, among others, came to check the Adlib slogan “dress as you want but with pleasure”.
Lídia Torrent left First Dates (Cuatro) after seven years ready to take on any challenge in front of the camera. And there was general agreement that television is losing a top-level presenter: the heiress of Elsa Anka – present in Sant Antoni de Portmany and admired by her daughter’s work – led the parade of new designers Futur, which conquered Sofia Benimelis, with ease and poise typical of a veteran. Lídia and Jaime Astrain have just baptized their daughter and this is how she remembers the ceremony: “It was very nice to bring the two families together, their friends, my friends… The experience of bringing together the people who matter most to you made it a super moment special”. Elsa and Jaime agree that little Elsa must grow up surrounded by values ??such as “kindness, respect, education, empathy, sensitivity and curiosity”.
Fiona Ferrer, current ambassador of the Ibiza Luxury Destination brand, the best-known product club of the Tourism Promotion of the White Island, does not miss an edition of Adlib. Ferrer is immersed in her fourth book, although she takes time for a still-secret fashion project and to organize exhibitions such as Sol y Mambo, with Aldo Comas, which can now be seen at the Wellington Hotel in Madrid.
Lourdes Montes, applause and videos on the mobile, was very active from the ‘front row’ to the creations of her Ibizan colleagues. She enjoyed Adlib’s original proposals from the other arc of fashion, her flamenco style at the helm of the brand Mi Abril: “They are two fashions with a long tradition but very different from each other. I came with the preconceived idea that everything was white, lace, embroidery and so on and I have verified that this is not the case; The experience has delighted and surprised me a lot”.
The designer recently went to Barcelona with her husband to inaugurate the Banak flaghship and announce that this fall she will launch her capsule collection of cushions with the decoration firm. We asked her if she would see a man with cufflinks and pleated pants like Francisco Rivera wearing any of the designs and, even-tempered, she concedes that the most her husband would do is wear linen shirts.
