National Police agents in Palma have arrested a 27-year-old young man who installed a hidden camera in one of the bathrooms of the nursing home where he worked. The police suspect that the man has recorded numerous women and so far have received nine complaints, although it is expected that the number may increase. The man is accused of a crime of discovery and disclosure of secrets.

The agents learned of the events when two employees of this residence filed a complaint after discovering that someone had installed a video camera in the trash can of one of the toilets where they worked. In fact, in the recorded images the alleged perpetrator of the events appeared, also a worker at the residence, who had made a self-recording.

The workers also explained the case to the director of the residence, who was the one who handed over the camera with the recordings to the police. The women who filed the complaints told the police that the camera lens was pointed in the direction of the toilet, so they suspect that the accused could have captured images of the employees when they were using the toilet.

The police report that these actions are a criminal offense proven by the agents, who in turn also observed in the images. The young detainee, an employee of the residence, admitted to the director of the center that he had installed the video camera himself and that he did it for his own entertainment.

So far, nine complaints have been filed from affected women, some of them workers and others users of the residence and passing personnel. The agents in charge of the case have intervened different computer equipment at the home of the author of the recordings to determine the extent of the crime.

The agents suspect that there may be many more women affected due to the location of the hidden camera, in one of the bathrooms of the residence that is not only reserved for users and employees. The investigation remains open pending the analysis of all the computer material that was seized at the defendant’s home.
