A worker dies on the roof of the Palau de les Arts after falling from a height of 20 meters

A worker has died after falling from a height of about 20 meters from the roof of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia, as health and police sources have confirmed to Europa Press.

The work accident took place on March 4, around 10:45 a.m., when the worker fell from a height of about 20 meters while carrying out maintenance and restoration tasks on the waterfall of the building belonging to the Ciutat de les Arts i les Sciences.

After the fall, the man was transferred to the Hospital Universitari La Fe de València, where he finally died, and it was then that the National Police opened an investigation.

Apparently, according to the first investigations, all security measures were complied with. According to police sources, the fall occurred due to some accidental movement that caused two ropes holding the worker to be severed.

As Levante-EMV announced this Tuesday, the deceased man was 47 years old and specialized in height safety. At the time of the accident he was with another companion, who was located higher up.
