A woman steals the chair that King Felipe VI used in a restaurant in Mallorca

It is common to see how some people act in somewhat peculiar ways when they meet a recognized face. This is the case of a Majorcan woman, who waited for King Felipe VI to leave a place where he was having breakfast with some friends to steal the chair he had used to sit on. An anecdote that she has starred in several headlines and that has been the most commented.

As usual at this time, King Felipe VI is in Palma de Mallorca. Between official events, family inns and sailing days, the head of state of Spain has had time to have lunch with some of his closest friends. This is a meeting that took place last Tuesday, August 1. However, what the King did not know is that this meeting would end with an anecdote that has not gone unnoticed.

The events occurred in the Vermutería San Jaime, a popular establishment located in the heart of Palma de Mallorca. The King appeared on the premises, accompanied by some friends. There were many customers who were speechless at the appearance of the monarch. Among them was a woman who waited for King Felipe VI to leave to take the chair in which Queen Letizia’s husband had sat. It is a wicker and wood seat with a two-tone backrest.

The information has been shared by the Diario de Mallorca, which in turn publishes the photo of the seat of contention, and the local media has assured that it has maintained contact with the woman who jealously guards this particular trophy. She has acknowledged that no one noticed her wrongdoing and that the chair is currently well kept in her home. The tabloid has also contacted the owner of the premises, Miguel Carrió Adrover, who assures that he did not miss his at first, what’s more, he even showed his surprise at the question.

The holidays of the Royal Family continue in Mallorca in a year in which the 50th anniversary of summers in Marivent is commemorated. This Friday, Doña Letizia enjoyed a getaway to the Escola Jovent Farm, located on Camí Vell de Bunyola. She did it accompanied by her daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía. Without a doubt, it has been a very busy summer for the Royal Family, who enjoys the sun, the sea and the good weather on the Balearic island. But, as we mentioned, his stay there has not gone unnoticed. The theft of a chair in which the King sat during lunch proves it.
