The Blanes Local Police have arrested a woman in an international search for allegedly kidnapping a minor in the Netherlands, according to the order issued from the same country.
The city council of the Catalan municipality reported this Monday that the events took place at the end of last week and culminated in the early hours of last Friday, when the agents located those two people “in perfect condition.”
The Local Police had received a statement from the Interpolice Coordination Unit reporting the kidnapping of a minor in the Netherlands on November 22. The notification implied the international arrest warrant for the alleged author and the rescue of the minor, and the details of both were provided, as well as the license plate and color of the van in which they had left Dutch territory.
It was also made clear that the vehicle was headed to Barcelona and collaboration was requested to check whether it had passed through Blanes or was in this municipality. The agents confirmed that the van was found the day before on Paseo Carles Faust in the town and, around 4:30 p.m., the patrols in the area were alerted to locate it, although without success.
Twelve hours later, a patrol located the vehicle and found the alleged kidnapper and the victim inside, who were sleeping. After verifying that the arrest warrant was in force, the Local Police proceeded to arrest the woman and protect the minor, while the two dogs inside the vehicle were handed over to the Jungle Animal Shelter ( CAAS).
The agents maintain that the victim did not appear to be against her will, and they transferred both to the Mossos d’Esquadra offices, one as arrested and the other to be taken into the custody of the services of the General Directorate of Attention to Children and Adolescence (DGAIA) of the Generalitat.
Likewise, sources from the Catalan Police have confirmed that it is not a case of mother and daughter, without giving more details of the relationship between the two in the context of the international search order.
