A woman involved in financing the Vidal-Quadras attack is arrested in the Netherlands

The Netherlands Police arrested a woman this Tuesday for her alleged involvement in the financing and preparation of the attack against the former president of the Popular Party of Catalonia, Alejo Vidal-Quadras, as reported by the Ministry of the Interior.

A Dutch national, she has been detained thanks to a European Arrest and Surrender Order (OEDE) issued by the National Court, where the case for terrorism is being investigated.

Today’s arrest marks the fifth arrest that has been made in the context of the investigation of the attack perpetrated in Madrid on November 9, when one of the founders of Vox was assaulted in broad daylight with a shot.

The first round of arrests were carried out by the National Police a week after the attack. Two of them in Lanjarón (Granada) and a third in Fuengirola (Málaga). The fourth person involved was detained in Colombia last January, when he was trying to cross the border.

The material perpetrator of the attack, according to investigators’ suspicions, remains unknown. This is a Frenchman of Tunisian origin who shot the former leader of the Popular Party in Catalonia.
