The National Police have arrested a man for allegedly threatening a woman with a scalpel to force her to have sexual relations and then stealing her cell phone.

As reported by the Superior Headquarters of the Balearic Islands in a press release, the events occurred last Sunday in s’Arenal, when 091 received the notice that the now arrested man, aged 38, was being held after a chase.

Upon arrival at the scene, the agents found a Manacor Local Police patrol that was holding a man. According to what they gathered, the victim had filed a complaint against the man the day before.

Apparently, he had made an appointment with her through an application in which he offered sexual services in exchange for money. When they met, the man intimidated her with a scalpel so that she would perform sexual acts on him.

The woman panicked until she was able to escape. However, as she fled, the man managed to snatch her mobile phone after it fell to the ground while she was running.

The victim told the police that he changed his profile on the application with another photo and username to contact the same individual again and set him up. This time, she attended the appointment accompanied by a friend.

When they met, the woman’s friend snatched the man’s mobile phone to ensure his presence until the police arrived. After a struggle, the man fled, but was located by agents of the Llucmajor Local Police.

The man has been arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of sexual assault and theft.
