It is known that, in general, delivery times are far from what has been reflected in cinematographic fiction, where precipitous deliveries have appeared rather as the norm. This weekend, however, one of those movie births took place in Pamplona, when a family was forced to stop the car and assist the pregnant woman inside, given the impossibility of reaching the hospital on time. nearby hospital.
The events, according to Diario de Noticias, occurred around 8:00 p.m. this Sunday, between the San Jorge neighborhood and the nearby University Hospital of Navarra (HUN), located just over 2 kilometers away.
A pregnant woman and her partner left for the hospital by car once the woman had begun to feel very strong contractions. They were followed in another car by the grandparents of the future baby. However, the journey by car was short-lived, as the woman sensed that she would not make it to the hospital.
The pregnant woman urged her partner to stop the vehicle with the aim of giving birth right there, next to the train tracks in the San Jorge neighborhood, just a five-minute drive from the hospital. The young woman’s family called 911, which mobilized a medicalized ambulance and a Municipal Police patrol. By the time they arrived, after a few minutes, the woman had already given birth, assisted by her relatives, and was with a newborn in her arms.
The woman was first treated in the ambulance and then transferred to the hospital, where they confirmed that both she and her daughter were in perfect condition, despite the hasty delivery.
