Not everyone has the privilege of getting married in front of one of the most impressive places in the world, the Great Pyramids of Egypt. However, billionaire Ankur Jain and former WWE wrestler Erika Hammond have had it. The couple said ‘I do’ this Friday in a spectacular ceremony held in the vicinity of the Egyptian monuments.
“We’re New Yorkers, and there’s something very special about being in a completely different global environment,” Jain, founder and CEO of cash-back technology company Bilt Rewards, told People magazine. “So we decided that our wedding is about having a moment together to celebrate the new beginning, having a really special party with our friends somewhere where they are in a different world,” said the billionaire.
Before bringing up the idea of ??getting married in front of the pyramids, Jain had suggested getting married in space, but Hammond didn’t like that idea. While his wedding venue was unique, it wasn’t the only notable detail of the celebration. The couple did not have a bridal party or wedding cake, although they did serve a birthday cake from Milk Bar. According to Page Six, both had little to do with this celebration, as they left it in charge of their coordinators.
“I had no idea what the napkins were like or what the table was like,” Hammond told People. “We’re not traditional wedding people. Why do you have to spend $20,000 on flowers? It doesn’t make sense,” Jain said for her part. The only detail the couple was involved in was transporting the wedding guests from the safari they were taken on in Africa back to Cairo for the ceremony. They both planned it.
The guest list was 130 people. In it, there were some celebrities, such as Lance Bass and his husband, Michael Turchin, Robin Thicke and his wife, April Love Geary, ‘Shark Tank’ investor, Kevin O’Leary, and his wife , Beautiful. The influencer Serena Kerrigan and several prominent politicians and businessmen in American society could also be seen there.
“We had the best time. It was so special,” Jain assured the aforementioned media. “When the fireworks exploded, it was one of the most spectacular moments. He was so excited that he couldn’t even put it into words,” he said. The newlywed couple met at Rumble Boxing, where Hammond is a founding member. She was also an instructor there. They both started seeing each other and it was in November 2022 when they got engaged. Now they are husband and wife.
