The Civil Guard of Valencia, within the framework of operation ‘Pakets’, has arrested five men between 19 and 22 years old and has dismantled a violent gang specialized in parcel thefts, as reported by the Armed Institute in a statement.
The investigation began when it became known about a wave of robberies and robberies committed against parcel companies during delivery. On one occasion they even threatened the delivery man with a firearm.
The investigations made it possible to prove that this loot was later sold in second-hand goods stores in the provinces of Valencia and Córdoba.
In the first phase of the operation, two people were arrested and the firearm with which the organization intimidated workers who were trying to prevent the robberies was seized in Paterna.
Subsequently, it was possible to prove the participation of these people in other crimes against property such as robberies in supermarkets with violence. Scams were also verified at gas stations and service stations in which, after refueling the vehicles with which they committed the criminal acts, they left the establishment without paying for the refueling fees.
The collaboration of the local police of Paterna and Ribarroja del Turia was decisive in the identification and location of the perpetrators of the events. The proceedings have been delivered to the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 8 of Llíria.
