The SIP-FEPOL union of the Badalona Urban Police (Barcelonès Nord) denounces the “worrying state” of the patrol vehicles. They assure that the police vehicle fleet presents an “obvious deterioration” so they demand that the government take “immediate” measures.

The government, for its part, has replied that for the moment seven vehicles have already been purchased, that they are about to arrive and that the dealership is adapting them for police work.

SIP-Fepol warns that the Guardia Urbana mobile park has obsolete vehicles, due to lack of renewal and insufficient maintenance that “puts the safety of our agents and the effectiveness of our work at risk.”

For this reason, there are already seven new police vehicles purchased, which are being adapted to police work by the dealership and which will be delivered to the Urban Police at the beginning of next month, in a matter of two weeks.

On the other hand, regarding cleaning, the government reports that a tender for the service is currently being prepared, which will take about two months to be completed and that, in the meantime, they are working on a solution to carry out the cleaning of the vehicles.
