A truck driver who had six times the blood alcohol level was arrested twice on the same day

Agents from the Traffic Subsector of the Alicante Civil Guard have arrested a 36-year-old man for two crimes against road safety and another of serious disobedience.

On April 9 at around 9:45 a.m., agents from the Traffic Subsector of the Civil Guard of Alicante, while carrying out a transport control on the AP-7 highway, in an area belonging to the municipality of Orihuela, They saw a truck with a semi-trailer that they stopped. When the agents prepared to inspect the vehicle, they detected certain symptoms in the driver that made them suspicious, so they proceeded to perform a breathalyzer test.

Once the test was carried out, the agents verified that the driver had six times the permitted alcohol level, which is why he was investigated for a crime against road safety for driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Furthermore, due to these same events, the agents immobilized the vehicle at the scene.

At 12:40 they verified that the immobilized vehicle had continued the trip without communicating it or having been authorized to do so. Due to this, the agents began their search, being located and intercepted on the A-7 highway, near the town of Elche, verifying that it was the same driver, proceeding to his arrest for two crimes against road safety and another. of serious disobedience for breaking the immobilization order, being brought to judicial disposal.

During the month of April 2024, by the Traffic Sector of the Civil Guard in the Valencian Community, a total of 212 drivers were brought to justice as alleged perpetrators of crimes against road safety: 80 for driving without a permit. or license (of which 40 are for total loss of points, 12 for being provisionally deprived by judicial decision, 1 for being definitively deprived by judicial decision and 27 for never having obtained the permit or license), 113 for doing so under the effects of alcoholic beverages, 2 for speeding, 10 for reckless driving, 1 for leaving the scene of the accident and 6 for driving with drugs in the system.

By province, in Valencia, action was taken against 31 drivers for lacking a permit or license, 48 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 6 for reckless driving, 1 for leaving the scene of the accident, 1 for speeding and 3 for driving with drugs in the body.

In Castellón, action was taken against 15 drivers for lacking a permit or license, 22 drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol, 2 for reckless driving and 3 for driving with drugs in their system.

Finally, in the province of Alicante, action was taken against 34 drivers for lacking a permit or license, 43 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 2 for reckless driving and 1 for speeding.
