The accident of a truck, whose driver has been slightly injured, has caused a large traffic jam this afternoon between the M-50 and the R-4, a spokesperson for Emergencies Community of Madrid 112 has informed Europa Press.
The accident, whose causes are now being investigated by the Civil Traffic Guard, occurred shortly before 1:00 p.m. this Wednesday, when a truck left the road at kilometer 48,400 of the M-50, in the municipality of Getafe.
The vehicle has plunged from a bridge, leaving part of the rear of the truck on the M-50 and the head towards a branch of the R-4. When the firefighters from the Community and the Summa-112 toilets arrived, the driver and sole occupant of the truck, a 43-year-old man, had already hit the road. However, he has been transferred to the Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid in mild condition.
The Civil Guard has regulated traffic in the area, since what happened and the work of the emergency services have caused retentions. At 3:00 p.m. at kilometer 48 of the M-50, the left and central lane is closed, so there are traffic jams from kilometer 43, on Cerro de los Ángeles, towards A-5.
