The Barcelona Urban Police evicted a thousand young people who were celebrating Christmas in the middle of Mandri Street early Monday morning. This is the third consecutive year that on December 25 there is a large gathering of people, some of them with a bottle, on this street in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district.
At night, about 400 people had already gathered on several terraces of the bars in Mandri, occupying the sidewalks and part of the road.
The Urban Police decided to cut off traffic between Bertrand and Serra and Maó streets. Finally, at one in the morning, local police patrols evicted the thousand young people “without incident” and with the presence of cleaning teams.
