A pyrotechnician has been injured after the detonation of a casing while mounting a ‘mascletà’ in the Valencian town of Alboraia, as reported by the local police of the municipality.

The explosion has caused the amputation of a finger on his hand, the police force has indicated through their social networks.

The Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU) has received the notice to transfer the man to the hospital, sources from the Ministry of Health have confirmed to Europa Press.

The man has been transferred in the first instance to the Continuous Care Point and later to the Burn Unit of the Hospital La Fe de València due to injuries to one hand.
