A pregnant woman in labor has suffered a traffic accident when she encountered a wild boar while on her way to the hospital. The accident, which occurred around 3:50 a.m. this Wednesday on the LUP-6607, near Viveiro (Lugo), had no major consequences for her or the driver, her partner, and the woman has could have been transferred to the hospital to give birth.
According to the 112 bulletin and confirmed by sources consulted to Europa Press, the vehicle in which the woman and her partner were traveling to give birth had the accident when a wild boar broke into the journey, at the height of the kilometer 0.200 of the LUP-6607, as it passes through Viveiro.
The driver himself alerted the 112 Emergency Attention Center about what happened around 3:50 a.m. According to him, a wild boar intercepted him on the road and caused him to lose control over the vehicle, which finally overturned, without anyone being injured or trapped.
However, as the pregnant woman was in labor, the Galicia-061 Health Emergency team took care of the evacuation of the woman in the first instance in order to continue the process in the best conditions. The sources consulted have confirmed that the woman arrived at the hospital safely to be able to continue with the birth process.
Due to the urgency of the medical transfer, the vehicle remained on the road, but the agents of the Civil Traffic Guard and the emergency teams would be in charge of signaling and maintaining safety measures on the road.
In addition to the health workers and Traffic agents, 112 Galicia requested the collaboration of the Viveiro Firefighters and the members of the Municipal Civil Protection Service.
