A national policeman died this Sunday in Andújar (Jaén) from injuries caused when trying to reduce a man involved in a fight between neighbors. The attacker has been shot dead by another agent, as reported by the police force to Europa Press.
The incident occurred minutes before 10:00 a.m. Witnesses have alerted the 112 Andalusia Emergency service to a fight between two neighbors on Las Monjas street, where one of them was hammering the door of another in an aggressive attitude.
Agents of the Local Police, National Police and health services have been mobilized to the place. When the crew arrived, the individual rushed at the agents with a knife and a hammer and attacked one of them, who was taken to the hospital in cardiorespiratory arrest and finally died from injuries sustained in the upper area. of the abdomen.
It is then that the comrade, who was slightly injured by a blow to the head and a stab wound to the back from which he is recovering, shot the assailant, who was shot down and also died. The National Police has taken over the investigation.
The deceased policeman was 40 years old and was from Marmolejo, a municipality in Jaen very close to where the fatal incident occurred.
