The neighbors around the Hospital Cínic and Mercat del Ninot de Barcelona report an alarming plague of rats in recent weeks without the measures taken by the Public Health Agency of Barcelona, ??an organism of the City Council, being able to remit it.
“When we go out for a walk at night we can find 10, 20 or 30 rats,” Manuel, a resident of Casanova Street in Barcelona, ??reported to the RAC1 microphones this Thursday. The problem, he points out, comes from the lot on Provença Street, right between the Hospital Clínic and the Mercat del Ninot.
The rodents, the neighbors denounce, take advantage of the water and the stale bread that some neighbors give to the pigeons in a garden area.
The municipal technicians in charge of deratization have installed feeders with poison in the abandoned lot, property of the Clínic, which these days has also been cleared.
As reported by Betevé, the City Council’s pest control unit has also had to close a playground in the Sant Antoni neighborhood due to the presence of rats. The notice was made by some families from a daycare center.
