Two people, an 80-year-old woman and her 55-year-old son, died this morning as a result of a fire that started inside their home, in a block of flats in Talavera de la Reina (Toledo). Sources from the 112 emergency and emergency service have informed EFE that the event took place at 00:30 this Friday in a nine-story block of flats located on Carnicerías street.

The fire started in the outdoor console of the air conditioner and later spread through the house where the mother and son lived. The old woman has died inside her home, while the son has been rescued still alive by the firefighters and, although he has been treated by an UVI doctor, he has finally died from smoke inhalation.

The flames have been confined to the floor where the fire originated thanks to the actions of the firefighters and have not spread to other homes in the building, which were evacuated.

The fire has already been extinguished and the residents have been able to return to their homes. A National Police patrol, Talavera firefighters and an UVI have participated in the operation.
