Agents of the National Police in Palma have arrested a 17-year-old boy as the alleged perpetrator of the rape of a young woman in a park located in the heart of Palma, next to the Plaza de España. The attack occurred last January in the Parc de ses Estacions, a central point in the city located above the city’s intermodal station.
The young woman was sitting on the bench in the park in the afternoon when a young man approached her to ask for a light. The boy took advantage of her to start conversations and, unexpectedly, proposed to have sexual relations, which the girl refused, telling him that she was not interested.
The minor began to insult the girl and finally left the park when he saw that the young woman was staying with two other boys. However, everything indicates that he was hanging around because when the girl was left alone again, after the two boys left, he approached her again when she was in a dark area of ??the park.
The minor raped her right there since the area was poorly lit. He also stole her wallet and mobile phone, so the young woman could not call for help immediately. The area where the violation occurred is a park through which numerous people pass since many citizens cross it to go from the city center to their neighborhoods of residence. However, no one realized what was happening.
The girl filed a complaint and was treated at a hospital. The young man was finally arrested because he was recognized by the victim in public. The young woman was in the same park, where she noticed the presence of the aggressor.
At that moment he called the emergency services and explained where they could find the attacker. Several Local Police and National Police patrols appeared at the scene and identified the young man, who turned out to be a minor. He was arrested by a Citizen Services patrol of the National Police as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of sexual assault.
