The National Police arrested a 17-year-old minor this Thursday, the 2nd, in Badajoz, as the alleged perpetrator of the death of his mother after an argument.
Specifically, at around 2:35 p.m., the Police received a call in which a young man stated that he had argued with his 59-year-old mother and had attacked her with a knife, according to police sources.
The events took place in a house on América Street, where several police units and health services have traveled, and have certified his death.
Likewise, one of his sons has been arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the death, while the investigation to clarify what happened remains open.
Neighborhood sources of the property where this event occurred have pointed out that both the young man and the other minor had been adopted by the woman. In addition, they have stated that the young man also killed the family’s dog during the argument.
Neighbors of the minor detained for the death of his mother have stated that they were “shocked” and have assured that “no one expected this”, since they formed a “good family”.
In statements to the media, Pablo Chávez, one of the neighbors, has assured that said neighborhood is “touched” after the event that occurred this Thursday, May 2, because “no one expected it.” He has also indicated that his mother was a teacher and that she knew the alleged matricide, who seemed “very calm” and “very normal.”
“No one expected this, really. He did not seem to have a bad character, a very normal boy, and yes, from a good family,” he said. “I don’t know what could have gone through his mind, honestly,” he added.
For her part, another neighbor has indicated that the alleged perpetrator of her mother’s death was adopted, as was another sister and daughter of the victim. Regarding the victim, he noted that she was a “very hard-working,” “great” and “educated” woman and that she was with her children “like crazy.”
