Members of the Alicante Provincial Firefighters Consortium extinguished a massive fire at midday today that burned seventeen vehicles and affected around thirty people in the Xàbia marina.

The fire started around 1:05 p.m. near the marina restaurant, as reported by the provincial fire department. A heavy urban bomb, a heavy forestry bomb, a heavy nurse bomb, two corporals and seven firefighters from the Dénia and Benissa parks have collaborated in the extinction tasks.

Once the fire was put out, which caused understandable alarm in the surrounding area, since the smoke was visible from a long distance, the firefighters were not aware that any person had been injured.

According to the regional channel À Punt, the origin of the fire could be due to fireworks fired during a wedding celebration. In fact, the restaurant where the party was being held was evacuated and remained closed for two hours.
