A man wanted for terrorism arrested for the attack with

Agents of the National Police have arrested this Tuesday in the town of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona) a person who had a European Arrest and Surrender Order (OEDE) in force for terrorist activities in Italy, mainly for his links with the group that perpetrated in September 2020 the attack in Paris near the former headquarters of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

The detainee has spent this Wednesday at the disposal of the Central Court of Instruction number 3 of the National Court, on guard duty, whose owner has ordered his entry into prison.

The arrest has been carried out for crimes related to terrorism issued by the Autorità Giudiziaria di Genova (Italy) and, as reported by the National Police, is related to the operation in several Italian cities that resulted in another 14 people arrested this Tuesday.

The investigation, carried out by the Italian DCPP-anti-terrorism Della Polizia di Stato, has been able to demonstrate the existence of a terrorist cell calling itself “Gruppo Gabar” whose members maintained a close link between them aimed at carrying out terrorist activities.

All of them would be followers of an ideological movement classified as terrorist in Pakistan and would be linked to the 27-year-old terrorist who, on September 25, 2020, carried out an attack in Paris near the former headquarters of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

The operation was carried out by agents of the Barcelona Provincial Information Brigade, under the coordination of the General Information Police Station.

The satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo suffered an attack on January 7, 2015 by two masked men armed with assault rifles and other weapons. They killed twelve people and wounded as many others shouting ‘Allah is great’.
