Agents of the National Police in Palma have arrested a 44-year-old man on suspicion of mistreatment of his minor son, for whipping him on the back. The alarm was raised by the director and the educator of a public school in Palma where the minor was studying.
Both verified that the minor had significant injuries and activated the protocol for child abuse, which is why a citizen security patrol of the National Police appeared for the first steps. The principal told the police that when the minor arrived at school, he told him that the day before his father had assaulted him using a blunt object.
The man claimed that the minor had stolen money from him and this was not the first time the father had hit the child. The Police met with the minor, who assured that his father mistreated him on continuous occasions. Investigators found that the minor had injuries to his back and arms with whip marks.
The agents gathered more information about what happened and found out that the mother was aware that the father had hit her son. Finally, the agents managed to locate the father hours later and he was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of mistreatment of his underage son. The minor was left in charge of the IMAS minor protection service.
