The Mossos d’Esquadra have neutralized the man who since this morning was entrenched in a farmhouse in Les Llosses (Ripollès) after having shot another, with whom they had argued, with a pellet shotgun.

After more than five hours of confinement, the man was neutralized around 2:10 p.m. by the Grup Especial d’Intervencions (GEI) and subsequently arrested.

The assailant, who was injured during the police intervention and has been transferred to a hospital, has refused to negotiate and has received shots at the agents. One of the GEI troops was reportedly slightly injured. The life of the aggressor is not in danger either.

The victim, who received several shots, was transferred to the Parc Taulí hospital in Sabadell. His injuries are not serious and between today and tomorrow he could already be discharged. The man would be related to the owner of the occupied farmhouse.

As explained by the mayor of Les Llosses, Andreu Llimós, the attacker would have a verbal contract with the former owner of the property, according to which he could remain there. However, the farm would now have a new owner, who wanted to throw out the old tenant. The incident originated after a trusted person of the current owner came to the house to try to kick out the person who supposedly had it occupied.

According to the ACN agency, which collects the testimony of some neighbors, the young man should receive an eviction order soon and has threatened the owner with killing him if he kicked him out. When the man approached the farm this morning to recover it, the attacker shot him.

The man lived alone and the mayor is not aware of any “serious problem” that could have triggered this reaction. “I don’t know if previously, in private, he had had differences with the owner,” says the mayor.

The Mossos d’Esquadra have received the notice around 8:30 a.m., have activated the Special Intervention Group (GEI) and the negotiation and mediation agents to try to speak with the alleged attacker, who did not want to negotiate.

The farmhouse where the events took place, called Les Lloberes, is next to the municipality of Sant Jaume de Frontanyà (Berguedà), a municipality bordering Les Llosses (Ripollès). The municipality, with just over 200 inhabitants, occupies an area of ??114 square kilometers and scattered farmhouses abound.
