The National Police arrested a man this Tuesday for allegedly stabbing his neighbor with a kitchen knife in the Madrid district of Carabanchel. According to the first investigations, the attack was caused by a neighborhood argument for reasons still unknown.

As reported by Emergencies Madrid, the attack took place around three-thirty in the afternoon at number 5 María Martínez Street. The paramedics, upon arriving at the scene, found the patient already inside her home, where she had taken shelter and was alone.

The victim, a 62-year-old Romanian woman, has a penetrating abdominal wound from a knife and, after being stabilized, she has been transferred in serious but conscious condition to the 12 de Octubre Hospital, so there is no fear for her life.

Municipal and National Police agents have arrested the alleged perpetrator, a 67-year-old Spanish man, and have recovered the knife with which the crime was supposedly committed. Meanwhile, they have opened an investigation to clarify the facts.
