A man arrested for robbing four apartments in Barcelona by climbing through the light patio

The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested a 36-year-old man in Barcelona as the alleged perpetrator of four crimes of robbery with force inside a home.

During the month of January, the man had robbed four apartments very close to the Sant Martí district of the Catalan capital.

The investigators determined that the thief accessed the apartment block by taking advantage of the entry or exit of neighbors, or used the x-ray technique to open the main door without leaving signs.

Once inside the apartment blocks, he went to the light well to see if any of the apartments had the kitchen window or the bathroom open. If so, the thief climbed to reach and gain access to the target floor.

In a few minutes, the detainee searched the home in search of money, jewelry and electronic devices with access to the illegal market and left either through the same access point or through the main door if he found a copy of the keys.

With all the evidence collected, the Mossos carried out several patrols to locate the perpetrator, who was detected on March 8 in a vehicle with several occupants who had accumulated a large number of records for crimes against property.

During the search, the agents found tools and plastic that could be used to open doors and an electric scooter that was stolen from one of the homes investigated.

The Mossos recovered the scooter, seized the tools and identified the occupants of the vehicle. Shortly after, they were able to link the four robberies to one of the identified men and he was arrested.

During the entry and search of his home, several electronic devices, electric scooters of illicit origin, money and three pieces of clothing were found.

The detainee was brought to justice last Friday, April 5, before the investigating court on duty in Barcelona. The investigation remains open and more arrests are not ruled out.
