A 63-year-old man has been arrested in Vigo as the alleged perpetrator of the violent death of his 71-year-old sister, in an event reported by La Voz de Galicia. The homicide occurred this Wednesday on Curros Street in the Vigo parish of Lavadores. The woman had a stab wound to her neck.

According to this media, the homicide could be related to a psychotic episode of the prisoner, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Indeed, he was under the tutelage of the Galician Public Fund for the Support of the Exercise of the Xuridic Capacity.

The victim would have gone to his brother’s home to bring him food, as he usually did. According to La Voz de Galicia, he also managed her bank accounts, which could have led to an argument with fatal consequences.

The social services provided home care to the man but, according to family sources, the visits to the ward were insufficient and the sister would have assumed a role as caregiver.
