A large ball of blue light has crossed the Iberian Peninsula on the night of Saturday to Sunday, being sighted both in Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, the Community of Madrid, Extremadura and Galicia, as well as in areas of northern Portugal and the capital, Lisbon. Dozens of users of X, the social network formerly known as Twitter, were able to record the phenomenon with their cell phones and share it.
A spokesperson for Emergencies 112 Community of Madrid has indicated to the Europa Press agency that there have been several calls asking about an object that would have crossed the sky causing a large blue flash, although he has not been able to confirm that it is a car.
Portugal’s Civil Protection, as reported by the Portuguese newspaper ‘Público’, has indicated that the object that has been sighted may have fallen as a meteorite in the Castro Daire area, in the central region of the country.
