Last weekend, several neighbors helped a woman who was being sexually assaulted on a street in Villaverde by a 27-year-old young man who was later arrested by the Madrid Municipal Police, a spokesperson for the Local Police informed Europa Press.
The events took place at 12:48 a.m. last Saturday on Moncada Street, in the San Cristóbal neighborhood. A woman had left a nearby bar accompanied by a man when, at one point, he began touching her breasts and kissing her without her consent. Furthermore, he pushed her to a corner, trying to pull down her pants.
Given what happened, some neighbors reproached the aggressor for what he was doing, helped the woman and contacted the emergency services. A Municipal Police patrol arrived at the scene and found the victim in a possible drunken state, semi-conscious, being cared for by several people.
The woman told the agents that her companion put her in a porch and sexually assaulted and touched her against a wall, managing to pull down part of her pants, all between sobs and without her permission and without the ability to defend herself.
Instead, the man claimed that after having a few beers with her, he offered to take her home, something that the establishment’s waiter confirmed. And he claimed that he did not abuse her, but neither the victim nor her witnesses thought the same, so he ended up arrested for the crime of sexual assault.
The woman was treated by Samur-Civil Protection paramedics and transferred for an examination, including toxicological tests, to the 12 de Octubre Hospital. The patient claimed that she was too dizzy for the alcohol she had ingested, so she could have been a victim of chemical submission.
