They stole so neatly that their victims did not notice until they missed what was stolen. The Civil Guard has arrested four people, men between 30 and 45 years of age, for their alleged participation in 16 robberies in homes in the Alicante regions of Vega Baja del Segura and Medio Vinalopó.
The detainees have been placed at the disposal of the Investigative Court No. 1 of Torrevieja, who has ordered their imprisonment. Another person involved, a 36-year-old woman, has also been investigated.
Last June, the Civil Guard of Guardamar de Segura began investigations to locate the perpetrators of a series of robberies in homes in towns in Guardamar de Segura, Almoradí, Albatera, Novelda and Aspe.
In the first phase, the agents of the Investigation Area analyzed the information collected, and were able to identify a group of four people in the places where the robberies were committed. The investigators were able to determine that it was a group of four men of Georgian origin, between 30 and 45 years old, who were on vacation in the town of Torrevieja.
In a second phase, thanks to the investigations carried out by the researchers, through control of the authors, it was found that they acted frenetically in the morning and with clearly established functions. It was also estimated that the value of the money and objects stolen reached 100,000 euros.
In their modus operandi, two carried out street surveillance to warn of the presence of the police, the other two, an expert in locksmithing, were in charge of opening the doors using methods known as bumping and impressing, and a fifth person , the woman, was the one in charge of selling the stolen objects.
The way the criminals acted did not leave signs on the doors or in the home, which meant that the victims, at first glance, did not realize what had happened until they missed the money or the stolen objects.
Finally, in the final phase of the operation, the agents of the Investigation Area carried out three searches in homes in the town of Torrevieja, proceeding to the arrest of the four suspects and seizing 150 pieces of jewelry, 35 watches and 26 high-end glasses. , and 600 euros in cash, all valued at 45,000 euros. Specialized tools for opening doors and gold sales contracts were also located.
The four detainees, who are charged with 16 crimes of robbery with force inside a home, have been placed at the disposal of the Investigative Court No. 1 of Torrevieja, who has ordered their admission to prison without bail, in addition to carrying out the investigation of the fifth suspect, a 36-year-old woman of the same nationality as the detainees. Given the neatness with which the perpetrators acted, the appearance of new victims is not ruled out.
