A fire in a storage warehouse in the Cova Solera de Rubà industrial estate (Barcelona) has forced the eviction of the closest neighbors and the workers of the adjoining factories for hours. According to Civil Protection reports, some fifty people have been evacuated as protection measures.
The fire originated around 2:40 p.m. in the part of the façade of the first floor of the factory for reasons that are still unknown, and it was considered controlled around 7:00 p.m.
The emergency has mobilized 22 fire crews and the group of collapsed structures of the same body, who are working to put out the fire and minimize damage.
Initially, the firefighters have assisted in the evacuation of 45 people who were in the ship or in the immediate vicinity, and the eviction of nearby houses has begun. Shortly after, the PROCICAT plan for this fire has been activated. The operatives have recommended that the neighbors confine themselves and close doors and windows.
The packaging manufacturing hall had a large amount of combustible material inside, especially cardboard and wood, which caused an intense fire that affected the front part of the building above all.
