The Local Police of Igualada has arrested a 46-year-old man for allegedly burning up to six containers. As a result of the fire, a vehicle has been damaged, as well as the facade of two buildings. The events happened this Sunday, June 18, at dawn. Around 6:30 a.m., the police received a notice about the fire in the containers on different streets of the city.
A joint device made up of the Mossos, the Local Police and the Fire Department started up and within half an hour of the warning the troops had already detained the suspect, who had just ignited the containers on Cardenal Vives street.
The Igualada City Council will assess the damage caused by these events and will claim the cost. It is expected that soon, as soon as the police report has finished, the cleaning service will replace the damaged containers with new ones.
As soon as the police report has been completed, the city cleaning service will immediately replace the containers in order to restore the garbage collection service as normal.
