A 53-year-old man has died this Sunday in the Sierra Norte of Madrid after going off the road while riding a bicycle and hitting some rocks located outside the road.
The accident took place around 1:30 p.m. at kilometer 9 of the M-137 highway, in the municipality of Prádena del Rincón, sources from Madrid 112 Emergencies have told EFE.
The deceased, who was accompanied by other cyclists, went off in a curve and crashed into a rock slope that was on the edge of the road, giving himself a strong blow to the head.
When the SUMMA 112 doctors arrived, the victim was in cardiorespiratory arrest, and after carrying out resuscitation maneuvers they could only confirm the death.
From Emergencies Madrid 112 they have indicated to EFE that, according to the information available so far, there have been no other vehicles involved in the accident.
