The National Police have arrested a man in Valencia for allegedly attacking his 50-year-old wife, whom he beat and tried to strangle, according to the Levante-EMV newspaper and sources from the investigation have confirmed to Europa Press.
The events occurred this past Tuesday at noon in the Benicalap neighborhood, when the man, a Civil Guard agent, beat his wife, whom he allegedly tried to strangle.
To the scene, the Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU) has mobilized a basic life support unit (BLS) that has treated the 50-year-old victim for contusions on the head, bruises on the face and upper limbs. The woman has been transferred to a health center.
The Civil Guard, for its part, had removed the agent’s regulatory weapon prior to these events, following the body’s internal protocols, according to sources from the armed institute. Apparently, she was on sick leave due to depression, according to published information.
