Second fatality by accident in the municipality of Àger (Noguera) while practicing adventure sports. This Wednesday, the Generalitat de Catalunya Fire Department has notified the death of a 78-year-old man in a paragliding accident.

The events took place around a quarter to three in the afternoon. As the Catalan News Agency (ACN) has learned, the victim is a French man who was in the holiday area. The emergency team has explained in a statement that the fall took place about 50 meters below the take-off area in Raudoral.

Two land resources from the Àger park, as well as the rescue unit with the helicopter, members of the Special Action Group (GRAE) and the doctor of the Medical Emergency System (SEM) of Catalonia have moved to the place. Reanimation maneuvers were performed on the victim, but nothing could be done to save his life.

A helicopter, the Mountain Intervention Unit and two patrols of the Mossos d’Esquadra have also been dispatched to the place, to manage the judicial tasks of lifting the body. The EMS has activated the helicopter and an ambulance with psychological support. The investigation of the events will be carried out by the Air Security Technical Unit (UTSA) of the Mossos d’Esquadra.

Last weekend, the Bombers located the body of a hiker, 77 years old and a resident of Barcelona, ??in Àger, whom they had been looking for since Friday afternoon, after the owner of the rural house where he was staying notified of that he had not returned from a route by a via ferrata.

The Mossos d’Esquadra opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the death, since the causes have not yet been confirmed.
