A 70-year-old driver who was driving an SUV dies after colliding with a truck on the M-50

A 70-year-old man died yesterday afternoon while driving an SUV on the M-50 when he collided with a small truck, a spokesperson for the Community of Madrid Emergencies 112 informed Europa Press.

The events occurred yesterday at noon at kilometer 16 of said ring road, inner ring, near the town of San Fernando de Henares. For reasons that the Civil Traffic Guard is now investigating, the SUV has rammed into the truck, which was stopped.

The strong impact destroyed the left side of the SUV, tearing off the driver’s seatbelt, who fell to the road. Two witnesses and then the firefighters provided the first attention to the injured man, who was in cardiorespiratory arrest.

The cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers have been continued by the Summa 112 paramedics, but they have found the injured man suffering from multiple injuries. Despite efforts at a field hospital set up on the road, they have only been able to confirm his death.

On the other hand, they verified that the truck driver, 61 years old, had minor trauma. He was out of the vehicle and has been taken to the nearest hospital for a thorough medical examination. The accident caused traffic jams in the area for several minutes.
