National Police agents have arrested a 69-year-old man of Spanish origin as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of sexual assault and sexual provocation of a minor, in Palma.

In a press release, the Police have reported that the investigation began as a result of a complaint filed by a woman who reported crimes of sexual assault and sexual provocation towards her son by a family acquaintance.

The complaint revealed that the man had abused the friendly relationship he had had with the minor’s mother for some time, leaving the minor on occasion and sporadically to take care of her children.

The events supposedly occurred when the man was taking the minor to do some extracurricular activity and was left alone on the way.

The minor reported that the man, to gain his trust, gave him money or bought him something. The man showed him photos of naked women, and also touched the minor in his private parts, even inciting the victim to also touch the man in his private parts and kiss him on the mouth.

Once the complaint was received, the Family and Women Care Unit (UFAM) of the Police took charge of the investigations, carrying out various procedures, until, once with all the elements collected, they arrested the man last January 24 as alleged perpetrator of a crime of sexual assault and sexual provocation.
