A 30-year-old soldier died this Thursday due to an accidental shooting after an exercise in the Rabasa barracks (Alicante), as confirmed by the Army. Soldier Adrián Roldán Marín has lost his life, according to military sources, while cleaning and maintaining weapons was carried out after a maneuver.

The Civil Guard, as usually happens in these cases, has taken charge of the investigation that must elucidate the circumstances of the tragic event. For its part, the Army’s priority is focused on caring for the family and colleagues of the deceased at this time, as stated in a statement from the Ministry of Defense.

The events took place in the Alférez Rojas Navarrete barracks, which since 2000 has housed the headquarters of the Special Operations Command (MOE). The SAMU services have traveled there, but they have not been able to save the life of the young soldier.

The deceased soldier, Adrián Roldan Marín, entered the Army in May 2018, at the No. 1 Training Center in Cáceres and had been assigned to the “Valencia” III Special Operations Group since April 2021.
