The 28-year-old man who was transferred in serious condition after being stabbed in the abdomen this Sunday morning in Madrid was apparently defending a woman who had been threatened by an unknown person when he was attacked, reports Europa Press .

According to sources of the investigation, the woman asked for help after an unknown person began to threaten her at the exit of the Lucero metro station, on Cebreros street in the Latina district.

Upon her request for help, this 28-year-old man approached to help her and was attacked in the face with a knife by the other subject, who after that tried to flee but was chased by the young man, whom he ended up stabbing in the abdomen. .

After the attack, the alleged perpetrator fled, while the victim had to be treated by Samur-Civil Protection, according to the same sources, which have indicated that there was no relationship between the three people involved in the event.

For its part, Emergencias Madrid has specified that members of the Samur went to the place around 7.45 am and found the patient with stab wounds “of great consideration” and “important evisceration”.

Although he was stable, the young man was intubated and placed under air, after which he was evacuated with notice to the Clinical Hospital, where he arrived stable and was taken directly to the operating room, according to a Samur spokesman.

The National Police has taken over the investigation and is looking for the alleged attacker.
