A 14-year-old boy who had learned to drive in social media tutorials has been arrested and placed under the guardianship of his parents after a chase behind the wheel in a vehicle without insurance or MOT between the districts of El Campello and Alicante.
The event occurred at 3 a.m. last morning, as reported by the local police of El Campello, after a patrol observed a red Volkswagen vehicle traveling in the opposite direction on Les Ancores street.
He was stopped at Barcelona Street, where the driver stopped the car in the first instance. But when he saw that the police officers were getting out of the patrol vehicle, he began to flee in the prohibited direction and at full speed. He did it by jumping red lights in the direction of Muchavista beach, first, and then to San Juan Beach, in the neighboring area of ??Alicante.
In coordination with the local Alicante police, he was finally stopped in a dead-end street near Avenida de las Unidas where, cornered by the two police forces, the agents discovered to their surprise that the driver was only 14 years old, the age in which is even prohibited from driving motorcycles.
At that moment, the minor explained that he had argued with his family and that he had taken the car because he had learned to drive from tutorials on social networks.
The mother went to the scene shortly after with a lawyer and the child was placed under her guardianship while waiting to appear before the Juvenile Judge for the alleged crimes of disobedience, reckless driving for jumping red lights and driving in the prohibited direction.
