The long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6 already has its first trailer. Against all odds, Rockstar Games has been forced to bring forward its publication a few hours after a user leaked it on social networks. This first official video, which can be seen below, also serves to confirm that the game has a planned release window of 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series (no PC mentioned).
“Our trailer has been leaked, so watch the real video on YouTube,” said the American editor in a brief message on “I like it”.
Rockstar Games’ initial intention was to publish the trailer this Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. (peninsular time), but after it was leaked on social networks, it has decided to bring it forward several hours earlier than planned.
The trailer confirms some of the information that Bloomberg had anticipated in July 2022, such as the presence of two main characters, including Lucía, the first female protagonist in the franchise; or the return to the iconic city of Vice City, a recreation of the city of Miami.
The first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 also draws attention for the astonishing visual detail, production values ??that are currently only available to very few studios. Likewise, and as expected, the parodic tone with which the game will portray part of current North American society (and society in general) stands out.
Music is another very prominent element in the trailers of the franchise and in this case the song chosen is Love is a long road, a 1989 song by American musician Tom Petty.
Grand Theft Auto is a series of action video games born in 1997 and characterized by offering the player the possibility of freely exploring large urban settings. Despite being a title recommended for those over 18 years of age, since its first installments it has been a franchise surrounded by controversy due to the violence inherent to its criminal theme.
The last of its installments, Grand Theft Auto 5, hit stores in 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. Since then, the game has been released on more platforms (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series) and It has sold more than 185 million units, a figure that has made it the second best-selling game of all time – only behind Minecraft – and a true popular culture phenomenon.
