In the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can contemplate how the sunset from the beautiful town of Moià opens two options on the horizon: either observe the fabulous massif of Sant Llorenç del Munt and or delight ourselves, further to the right, with the view of the Montserrat massif.

Sant Llorenç del Munt is a massif located between the regions of Vallès Occidental and Bages. Its main summits are the Montcau and the Mola, where the monastery of Sant Llorenç del Munt is located.

The Natural Park of Sant Llorenç del Munt i l’Obac is an extensive protected natural area. The landscape is of oak forest, white pine, oak and hazel and bare rock.

The space is perforated by more than 300 caves and peaks, the great secret that all hikers want to discover. Neolithic and medieval archaeological remains also abound: farmhouses, vineyard huts, ice wells and fountains.

For its part, Montserrat is traditionally considered the most important and significant mountain in Catalonia. With a maximum height of 1236 meters at the peak of Sant Jeroni, it rises abruptly to the west of the Llobregat river.

Since, according to legend, the image of the virgin was found in the Santa Cova, Montserrat has been a place strongly linked to spirituality.

Although this characteristic culminates with the location of the Monserrat monastery almost at its summit, the mountain is also home to small churches and hermitages such as, for example, those of Santa Cecilia, Sant Benet, Sant Joan or Sant Jeroni. In fact, there are various routes that can be followed to discover the mountain.
