The Civil Guard has arrested five people for the theft of at least 320 kilos of avocados on a farm in Beniarbeig, in the Marina Alta region of Alicante. Those arrested are four men and a woman, between 22 and 49 years old, who are charged with the crime of robbery with force. The detainees have been placed at the disposal of the Investigative Court No. 3 of Dénia.

According to the armed institute, in mid-November, the Pedreguer Civil Guard post received a notice from the Operational Central reporting the sighting of five unknown people in a plot of land in the town of Beniarbeig, dedicated to cultivation. of avocados.

Immediately, the agents arrived at the scene, managing to surprise two men nearby and, inside the property, a woman. Once these three were located, the Civil Guard managed to locate the other two, who had left the place in the presence of the patrol.

After inspecting the place, the investigators located a cut in the fence that closes the farm, through which they accessed it, and eight stacked bags, weighing about 40 kilograms each, containing avocados inside.

After the relevant investigation work, the agents confirmed the authorship of the events by the five identified, four men between 36 and 49 years old and a 22-year-old woman, proceeding to arrest them for the crime of robbery with force.

On November 14, the five detainees charged with the crime of robbery with force were placed at the disposal of the Investigative Court No. 3 of Dénia, who finally decreed their release with the imposition of precautionary measures. During the intervention, 320 kilos of avocados were recovered, which were delivered on site to their legitimate owner.
