The calendar shows that it is December 10, which means that Sweden has dressed up to deliver, once again, the Nobel Prizes. The ceremony, which took place in the Stockholm Concert Hall, was presided over by the Swedish royal family. The places of honor have belonged to Kings Gustav and Silvia, but they have also been accompanied by Crown Princess Victoria and her husband, Prince Daniel.

The other members of the family, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia, watched the gala from the stalls. Those who have not attended have been Princess Madeleine and her husband, Chris O’Neil, a couple who went to live in the United States and who have recently returned to Sweden. Despite their return, they continue to have a limited presence at royal events.

The Nobel Prize ceremony is classified as “gala”, which means that the Swedish royal women must wear long dresses and a tiara and the men a tailcoat. Among all the attendees, Princess Victoria stood out, who has decided to repeat her outfit for the first time for the celebration.

Normally she used to wear premiere outfits, but on this occasion she once again opted for a purple dress by Camilla Thulin, with an asymmetrical neckline and a large flower on the right shoulder. She wore this style during the gala dinner organized for the state visit of William Alexander and Máxima to Sweden.

To complement the dress, she wore matching earrings and a brooch that held the band of the Seraphim order, the most relevant in Sweden. As for the tiara, Victoria has chosen amethysts. This jewel originally belonged to Empress Josephine, Napoleon’s wife, and later to one of her granddaughters, Josephine of Leuchtenberg. She brought the tiara into her family when she married Oscar I of Sweden and Norway.

After the awards gala, the classic banquet will be held at Stockholm City Hall. On the other hand, a few hours ago, in Oslo, the Norwegian royal family presided over the Nobel Peace Prize event, which was awarded to the Iranian activist Narges Mohammadi. This award is given separately from the rest by tradition. Mohammadi has been absent from the gala because she is imprisoned in her country.
