Sad day for the world of cinema and acting. Today the death of retired actor Jack Hogan has been made public, who participated in major audiovisual projects such as Combat!, Mobile One, Sierra, Adam-12, Paratroop Command, The Legend of Tom Dooley, Garrison’s Gorillas or The Cat Burglar.

As confirmed by his son West to the American media Variety, the acclaimed actor died at the age of 94 last Wednesday, December 6, at his home on Bainbridge Island, Washington. Furthermore, the son has clarified that he died of natural causes and that he was accompanied by his family and loved ones at all times.

Richard Roland Benson, better known internationally as Jack Hogas, was born on November 24, 1929 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Although he succeeded in the world of cinema, he previously studied architecture in college and participated in some battles as a member of the US Air Force.

The American fought different war conflicts, such as the Korean War, and once he returned to the United States, he began to show interest in art, which is why he decided to study theater in New York. Until he managed to succeed and land the legendary role of Private First Class William G Kirby in the series Combat!, Hogan was making a living as a first responder. Although he participated in different successful projects and was able to make a comfortable living from acting, his role in the series set in World War II is the reason why the general public remembers him.

Hogan recorded countless series and films on American television, but it should be noted that his last (known) audiovisual work took place around 1993, so he had already been retired for almost 30 years.

In addition to his ability to get into the shoes of different characters, Hogan also succeeded on the small screen as a casting director, since many claim that the deceased had a great eye for other people’s talent and that he was very good at playing this role. .

The news did not surprise his fans (the actor was 94 years old), but some of his followers wanted to dedicate messages full of love and respect to him on social networks such as Facebook, X (previously known as Twitter) or Instagram. According to Variety, Hogan leaves his two children, Tehani Hogan and West, broken with pain, as well as his two grandchildren: Kai and Skyler.
