A 44-year-old man has been arrested in the town of Vigo after attacking and trying to strangle his partner with a cable.
According to the information given by the Local Police, the events occurred around 9:30 p.m. this past Monday and it was the woman herself who called 112 Galicia to report that she had had an argument with her boyfriend at the home they shared. on Tomás Alonso street.
Once at the scene, she explained to the agents that the argument had started because her partner had urinated on the terrace, so the woman reproached her for this action.
From there, and according to the victim’s version, the man reacted aggressively and violently towards his girlfriend, even pushing her against the door, grabbing her by the hair. At one point, the now detained man grabbed a cable from a music player and wrapped it around her neck, trying to strangle her.
Even so, the woman managed to get away from her attacker after kneeing her, although he reacted by hitting her hard on the head, causing her to fall, in which she injured her knee.
Due to the events described, the police proceeded to arrest the man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of gender violence. For her part, the woman was transferred to the Pizarro continuing care point (PAC) to be evaluated by health professionals.
